I studied journalism at University in the UK, securing 100wpm shorthand and the skills to source the best news hooks and stories that avoided the news editor’s spike. I then went straight into PR, enjoying over 13 years at Citypress, one of the UK's most successful, respected and award-winning independent PR agencies.
At Citypress I co-ordinated and devised creative and corporate PR campaigns for a variety of client accounts, across retail, food, finance, travel and leisure. My clients included Lloyds TSB, canned food brand Princes, Italian food brand Napolina, Co-operative Travel Group, pub groups Admiral Taverns and Burtonwood Brewery and McArthurGlen Designer Outlets.
I specialised in copywriting within the agency, sourcing and writing client content including press releases, newsletters, marketing brochures, website copy, industry reports and award entries, for corporate and consumer audiences.
I became a freelance copywriter and PR content writer in 2010 after having a family, and moved from Manchester, England to Sydney, Australia in 2015.
